Hi Backer,

We have completed the refund to all backers who are able to receive the fund through Kickstarter internally. If you did not receive a refund, please check your message box or send us a message, we will follow up your refund process.

For backers who chose to receive the refund outside Kickstarter, e.g. through Paypal or bank transfer, we have completed the refund to backers who provided payment information before 15th April, including those who did not receive the money successfully in the first refund attempt. For backers who provided their correct payment information later than 15th April, the refund process is still ongoing. We will try our best to complete all within May. Thank you for your kind understanding.

Update About the Refund Progress

Hi Backers,

Here is an update about the refund progress. Firstly, thank you for providing the comprehensive information for us to follow up your refund. 

Regarding the refund through Kickstarter, we have completed the refund for backers #1-600. There are still a few miles to go and we apologize for the delay. We are slightly behind schedule since we underestimated the time of doing the refund manually. If you have a backer number between 1 and 600, but have not yet received a refund, please check your message box to see if we send a message about another payment method. If you did not see the message, you may contact us through message box.  

For the refund by using Paypal or bank transfer, we have already completed all the refund for backers who had provided correct account information before 15th April. For backers who provided the information later than 15th April, or need to revise their payment information, the refund should be completed by the end of April.

Refund Arrangement and FAQ

Dear Sorcerers,

Regarding the refund progress, now some backers may start to receive a refund from Kickstarter and Backerkit. We will complete the whole refund process in around mid-April and will post an update when we finish refunding to all backers who have the valid payment information. 

Below are some frequently asked questions regarding the refund:

Q1. What should I do if my card used for backing the project is no longer valid?

If your card used at the time is no longer valid, you may provide us your Paypal account or bank account information as below:

For Paypal

1. your email address linked with Paypal;

2. your paypal account name

For Bank transfer

1. bank name

2. bank account number

3. bank account owner name

4. SWIFT code (if available)

Q2. Can I get refund for the shipping fee or add-ons I purchased in backer survey?

If you spent more money in the Backer Survey apart from your initial pledge, we will refund the respective amount through Backerkit, so the amount will arrive separately without a notification email itself. It will take up to 14 days for a Backerkit refund to be completed. 

Q3. I can no longer post comments, why?

Due to the settings of Kickstarter platform, after the pledge amount is fully refunded, you will not be able to leave comments in the comment section and under update articles, but you will still be able to see the content. Therefore, if you have any questions about the refund amount, you may message us through Kickstarter inbox or email to us [email protected]. We will be more than willing to help you ensure the refund is completed.

Important Update on the Project & Refund Arrangement

Dear Sorcerers,
After two years of dedicated efforts and discussions with our manufacturer, we have encountered significant challenges in bringing Mushroom Sorcerers to life. Below is an update on production, our team’s status, and the refund arrangements.

Production Challenges and Technical Issues

Our team has to admit the fact that key components, such as the dice tower and 3D terrain cannot be produced as originally envisioned. During the promotional phase, we used laser cutting and manual assembly for terrain pieces. However, when transitioning to mass production, adjustments to the cutlines led to structural issues—unstable side walls and poor alignment with the upper pieces. After multiple revisions with the manufacturer’s engineers, we realized that plastic injection molding might be required, altering both the look and functionality of the final product. Additionally, the assembly of the GUs by the manufacturer has not progressed as smoothly as expected.

Lack of Manufacturer Response

Since late Autumn 2024, our manufacturer has stopped responding to messages and emails. Our last discussion indicated that the dice tower and 3D terrain issues remained unresolved. Unfortunately, with half of our production budget already paid as a deposit, transferring production to another factory is not a viable option.

Team Constraints

Several team members have had to step away due to personal health and family reasons. Given our reduced manpower, we can no longer ensure a successful production and fulfillment process.

Refund Arrangements

Due to these challenges, we have made the difficult decision to cancel production and initiate refunds. Refunds will begin processing on March 22, 2025 and will be issued to the credit card used for your pledge.
If your card is no longer valid, please contact us via message or email, so we can arrange an alternative refund method. Please kindly understand that any applicable transactional or processing fees (i.e.bank charges, PayPal fees etc.) incurred by third parties are not refundable and will be excluded from the refund amount. Change of the Form of Mainboard and Sample Update

Dear Sorcerers,
It has been a while since our last update. We are pleased to inform you that we have received a new round of samples with several improvements compared to the last version.

Sturdiness of GUs 
Below is the drop test video of the GUs with revised cutlines. The GUs are now firmer and sturdier. The meeples can be placed on the platform stably, and the platform will no longer fall apart.

Plastic Trays 
The edge issue of the plastic tray has been resolved. Now, the GU box and the insert fit perfectly in the game box.


Mainboard Structure
Previously, we encountered difficulty ensuring the mainboard's inner cutline fit with the landscape formed by multiple hexagon tiles and 3D structures. A minor difference of 0.1mm in each tile results in the landscape either being too loosely bound or squeezed together, causing one or two tiles to pop out. As a solution, we decided to fill in the hole, making the mainboard a single piece.

Landscape Structure
The manufacturer used the old cutline of the structure to create the new sample. We have urged them to use the updated file and produce the correct edition as soon as possible.
